Volcanos, beaches, and new friends along the way
A trip to Guatemala in February of 2026 was inspired by the desire to summit Volcán de Fuego, the country’s most active volanco. What I discovered was a place full of rich architecture, fresh and delicious food, and adventurous souls from across the world. I was compelled to extended my trip so I could travel to beach village of El Paredon. There, I found a newfound sense of peace and relaxation along the black sand beaches and within the vibrant hostel communities.
